Most of the things on the list below are now available in any major supermarket however, if you are after the true Indian experience, brave your local Indian store. The beauty of this exercise is that it is a once every few months kind of operation so once you’ve stocked up, you are good for a couple of months (depending on how often you cook Indian food of course!) Start by getting the smallest packet you can find and see how you get on!
